Do you want to put up a website, but don't know the first thing about it? Do you want to know what it takes to make a really kickass site? Well, once you know the basics, it's really very simple.
There's a lot of page generators out there now: MS Front Page, Netscape Composer, etc. But once you have a basic page started, you will want to learn HTML to gain more control over how your page looks.
On this page, I'm going to give a basic introduction to HTML coding, and show some basic hints to the some of the more common stuff you'll need. In less than a week, you should be happily typing away at your new webpage with proficiency and finesse. I won't guarentee it, however, since you're not paying money, and your finesse is only as good as your typing skills. :)

If you want to learn more, I suggest you go to The Wellesley Community Site and click on "Webpage Tools" to find extra things to make your page look great.
If you want a more concise explanation than I've given, then check out the Ultimate Tutorial. This is where I learned the majority of my HTML coding.
Good luck, and have fun!
